These past eight years at Helen O’Grady would not have been the same without either of you: Mary with the many costumes and Nick with the teaching and both of you for making the lessons so much fun. These drama lessons have made me much more self-confident and I am no longer shy, I love talking to new people!
I will never forget the many memories I have had at drama. It has played a huge part in my life. Thank you for everything you have offered me, I am truly grateful
Thanks so much for having Ruby in Helen O’Grady for so long. She has really benefitted from her Saturday morning classes and the summer productions. She is now much more confident at speaking out and expressing herself clearly….she also has a fine collection of trophies and now an Oscar! She has had such fun along the way. Thank you for a brilliant year of drama
You are the bestest drama teacher I have ever had!
Dear Nick and Mary, thank you for making my drama classes and yearly performances so enjoyable and so much fun. I’d be much less confident if I hadn’t had the pleasure of coming to classes, so thank you very much for making them so much fun and for making me less shy. Thanks and better wishes
You have added a vein of confidence which will be invaluable to her over the years. Many, many thanks.
My son is like me, he gets bored easily. So it is a real testament to Nick and Mary in Sheffield that he has been attending Helen O’Grady drama classes for many years now with no sign of stopping. He loves coming, always looks forward to it, and I can see that it has had a huge influence in him growing in confidence and speaking in public. Thoroughly recommended.
Nick and the drama club have helped our son build his confidence so much. He really enjoys the experience. For that we are very grateful.
Our son has enjoyed coming to Helen O’Grady over the past four years and has gained so much from it. He isn’t a child who would normally be picked for any school performances, so to be given significant roles in the end of year plays really boosts his confidence.
This term some of our older children have been delving into the murky world of office politics! Using some of the improvisation, verbal and dialogue development skills they have been learning, the students explored different situations which they may even be faced with themselves in later life!
Our classes in Hillsborough and Nethergreen worked in small groups to perform a story called “They were here a minute ago…” Their imagination had no limits and we were amazed to see mini dramas ranging from mermaids to musicals to monsters!
The young students in our Hunters Bar Saturday class had their own mini bake-off situation with a session (including great props) based around the kitchen environment.
Other themes we have enjoyed this year include robots, a sleepover theme, fashion and what happens when we sulk!
It doesn’t seem to matter what wild and crazy ideas we throw at them, the students never cease to amaze us with the creations they come up with.
